George S. Kounoupis, Esq.

Mr. Kounoupis has been recognized as a premier employment lawyers in Pennsylvania. He has been selected as a super lawyer by his peers as published in Philadelphia Magazine, recognizing him as one of the top 5% of lawyers in the State.

Mr. Kounoupis graduated from Lehigh University (BA 1984) and the Temple University School of Law (JD, 1987 and top 12% in the class). He is also on the dean’s list. He participated in the Jessup Moot Court competition.

He is a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, The Trial LAwyer Honory Society and  a member of the Trial Law Institute and Diversity Law Institute. Mr. Kounoupis has also been licensed as an attorney in Athens, Greece and therefore holds dual qualifications.

He has worked as a corporate and defense attorney for Fox, Rothschild and O'Brien & Frankel. He is a section author of the BNA and the International Labor Law Treatise. He is also a part of the National Employment Lawyers Association.

He is the co-chair of the National Origin Discrimination Committee, the American Bar Association, the Employment Rights and Responsibilities Sub-Committee.

Mr. Kounoupis is also co-chair of the Northampton County Bar Association Employment Law Committee, a founding member of the Bar Association for the Third Federal Circuit, a member of the Society for Human Resource Professionals, a member of the EEOC's Attorney Referral List and regularly receives EEOC referral of cases. Mr. Kounoupis has also been selected as a member of the "Million Dollar Advocates Forum" (membership is limited to the top and elite trial attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional advocacy skills).

Mr. Kounoupis has acted as counsel and advisor to numerous multi-national corporations and businesses and has been general counsel to public and international companies, and was general counsel for a large, public, internet company (NASDAQ) and had widely published lawsuits on internet, high-tech and software issues.

He is a member of several national and international legal committees and organizations and is also a frequent lecturer and author on employment and business matters.

Mr. Kounoupis has successfully litigated over 1,000 employment law cases and has also been sought out as counsel to numerous municipalities, banks, multinational corporations and public companies.

Mr. Kounoupis sits on numerous regional and national advisory counsels and committees. He works with various executives and CEOs of large companies as well as Deans and Presidents of Universities, prominent political and church figures.

Nancy S. Skalangya, Esq.

Ms. Skalangya graduated from the Rutgers University, New Brunswick (BA) and the Temple University School of Law (JD 1988). She was admitted to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, Eastern District; Federal 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.

She was a law clerk to Judge Vincent Cirillo of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. She was the former Director of Employee Studies, Harris Organization, NY.

She is a part of the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Sexual Harassment Advisory Panel and the ABA, the Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee. She is also the co-chair of the Legislative Rights.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Skalangya worked with one of the largest law firms in the Philadelphia area. She is also a board member of the Hanover Elementary School PTA.

Ms. Skalangya has over 19 years of experience in employment law cases and in litigating such cases in the state and the federal courts.

Ms. Skalangya is widely recognized as an aggressive and tireless advocate for women's rights, the rights of mothers and gender equality in the workplace.

David L. Deratzian, Esq.

David Deratzian has been recognized as a premier employment lawyers in Pennsylvania. He is a graduate cum laude of Potsdam College (BA 1984) and the Temple University School of Law (JD 1987 and top 5% of class) and was admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 1987.

He was the chairman of the National Employment Lawyers Association, Disability Rights (ADA) Committee from 2000 to 2008, and remained on the Committee to work on the mark-up of legislation that became the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act, which was signed into law in 2008. Mr. Deratzian thereafter appeared before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to testify on behalf of NELA about regulations that implemented the ADAA.

Mr. Deratzian has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit resulting in decisions that refined and enhanced employee rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act, and which carved out new law in the Civil Rights litigation.

He has also recently appeared before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to protect the rights of State Court employees and Whistleblowers. 

He has written numerous publications including for presentations and seminars at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, American Bar Association, National Employment Lawyers Association and Lorman Legal.

Steven D. Cahn, Esq.

Mr. Cahn is a graduate of Rutgers College and the Delaware Law School of Widener University. He is "of counsel" to the firm. Mr. Cahn served as a captain and judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. Cahn has been certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a certified civil trial attorney.

He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an elite group of lawyers that has been recognized for their zealous and effective representations.

Mr. Cahn has the distinction of having been awarded one of the highest jury verdicts ever in New Jersey, a $15 million judgment after taking on the Ford Motor Company.

While serving in the Marine Corps, Mr. Cahn gained valuable trial experience representing both the prosecution and the defense, as well as serving as a staff judge advocate.

During his time in the Marine Corps, he tried many noteworthy cases including United States v. Clyde.

It was a case that involved the death of a young marine in training which received tremendous national press coverage. It was the first sexual harassment case prosecuted by the Marine Corps.

The Marine Corps awarded Mr. Cahn the Navy Achievement Medal for his work as a trial counsel at Camp Lejeune, NC.

He presently serves as the attorney for the Middlesex County Planning Board and has represented the Piscataway Township Board of Education.

He also represented the Franklin Township Housing Authority. Mr. Cahn also participates in the Police Officer's Defense Protection Plan and has been selected to defend police civil rights cases.

Mr. Cahn primarily practices civil litigation and has spent more than 20 years developing his expertise in employment law and personal injury.

Mr. Cahn admitted to practice law in New Jersey and before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Military Justice and the United States Supreme Court.

He serves as a court-appointed arbitrator for the New Jersey Superior Court and has lectured extensively and been published in the areas of trial advocacy, employment law, personal injury and technology in the courtroom.
